CONFIRMED: Nomura No Longer Involved with Final Fantasy XIII

Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed to Dengeki PlayStation in an interview that he is no longer involved with Final Fantasy XIII. From the rough translation, he cites that he is no longer directly involved with the development process of the game, just on the voicework, advertising and the odd dab of design.

We think now that XIII is nearing the end of dev work in Japan, Nomura now has more time to work on Versus XIII, which wont be at E3 next week sadly, but hey, FFXIII will be.

Good, so hopefully FFXIII is nearing release, especially what with all the big building sized ads they’ve used to replace GTAIV… Hopefully FFXIII will be out in Japan by the holidays and we’ll see more of Versus at TGS!

Nomura is clearly pouring more love and passion into Versus XIII. I felt my heart sink when I read that Versus won’t be featured during E3. What a killing wait! Versus is considered a spin-off by many, but I feel that it has more potential and a more vibrant, realistic world and character. Altough pale, there is something unique here. Let us see some damn gameplay!
