Senior Sony Execs hit the town yesterday to pain the town red… okay, thats slightly made up but they did go out yesterday to attend the Sony Computer Entertainment Annual Staff Briefing and there was some juicy stuff that came out of it according to D+Pad.

During the conference, it was said that the PS3 will recieve a price cut within the next 6 months from March 2009 where it’s believed to be tied in with the launch of Killzone 2 on Februrary 20th. As well as that, David Reeves, the president of SCEE, was on stage where he announce that SCEE was the money maker of the 3 SCE brands of SCEE, SCEA and SCEJ.

But after the jump, it’s where it get’s really interesting.

Uncharted 2

Uncharted 2 was shown at the event but only for a quick 30 seconds as there wasn’t that much gameplay footage but there was gameplay footage shown and not CGI. It’s also mentioned in the article to expect no such graphcial upgrade for Uncharted 2 compared to Drake’s Fortune which D+Pad’s source said was no bad thing, considering that how great the Uncharted 1 graphics were, we’ll take him at his word.

LittleBigPlanet (PSP)

A PSP verison of LittleBigPlanet was revealed at the showing and gameplay footage was shown from a early build but because it was such an early build, Alex Evans, Techincal Director at Media Molecule, wasn’t prepared to show it off. D+Pad said that it looks good for a PSP game and is obviously nowhere near looking like the PS3 verison.

Killzone 2

The introduction of Killzone 2 was shown at the event showing Sev, the main character you play in the game as well as Helghan leader, Emperor Scolari, played by Brian Cox with D+Pad’s source stating that it paint’s a bit of a picture towards the world of Helghan in the game.

Motorstorm (PSP)

Target footage of Motorstorm for the PSP was also shown at the event but that was all to it. No location was revealed so we don’t know if we’re going back to the desert of the original Motorstorm or the tropical island of Motorstorm: Pacific Rift or even a new location.

God of War III

The big finalé: God of War III.

In the trailer, it showed Kratos fighting cyclops and skeletons before Kratos manages to get a ride from an eagle before killing it just as he landed. He then looked at what appears to me Mount Olympus before the trailer ends.

It was incredible looking that D+Pad’s source couldn’t tell if it was CGI or not but either way, it got people so pumped and whipped into a hysteria.

And that was that.

Hopefully, we’ll hear alot more of this big lot very soon, particularly Uncharted 2 and God of War III.
