F1 2010 Announced for PLAYSTATION 3 & Xbox 360, F1 2009 for the Wii This Autumn
Codemasters have at long last revealed details of the brand new F1 game coming to PS3 and Xbox 360 next year, known as F1 2010, while the Wii version will be out this autumn. There will be a handheld version coming this year for PSP too but all we care is for the consoles.
The game will be the first F1 game since 2007, when Sony last released Formula One Championship Edition for the PS3, but Sony lost the rights to Codemasters after neogations fell between them and head honco of F1 advertising, Bernie Ecclestone. The game will have all 11 teams from this season as well as 22 drivers, including world champion Lewis Hamilton, current world championship leader Jenson Button in his Brawn GP and winner of the Chinese Grand Prix, Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel, only to name a few.
It will also include the full tracks from the 2009 season, including the Valencia street circuit for the European GP, the Singapore street circuit for the Singapore Grand Prix at night and the new season closer in Abu Dhabi. So, expect a lot more info on this in the near future. Meanwhile, Ecclestone and Button gave snippets on what they thought of the game.
Ecclestone:
Codemasters has a great heritage when it comes to racing games and their reputation is second to none. We’re working very closely together on the upcoming Formula 1 titles and are very impressed with what we have seen.
Button:
F1 computer games and circuit simulations can be invaluable for racing drivers so it’s great news that our fans will also be able to experience the BGP 001 through this game.
