GOONL!NE’s Top 10 Most Antcipated Games of E3 2009 – Part 1
So, in little over 48 hours time, E3 kicks off with the Microsoft press conference which we ‘ll be covering with a livetext, along with Nintendo, Sony, EA and more, from Monday. But what are the games you should be looking out for all this week as potential games of the show?
Check out the top 10 games we here at GOONL!NE we’re looking forward to seeing all next week, Part 1 today (Saturday) and Part 2 tomorrow (Sunday). Then on Monday, just before we go live with the Microsoft press conference, we’ll be posting our E3 predictions.
For this list, the following games must be confirmed or all but confirmed for an E3 reveal.
10 – Forza Motorsport 3 (Xbox 360)
It’s been a long time coming, nearly a year and a half since the first info leaked, but alas Forza Motorsport 3 should be revealed at the Microsoft press briefing on Monday. A massive PR leak last year confirmed it was in pre-production, but the game was confirmed at a Xbox event in Brazil thanks to the not so subtle and secret teaser shown at the event.
Will it be the first one out of the gate between itself and Gran Turismo 5? Who knows, but for now, all we care about is seeing some Forza 3 in our lives.
9 – Need for Spped: Shift (PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360)
Could this rival Gran Turismo 5 and Forza 3? God no, EA don’t see Shift as a game to match GT and Forza, but never the less, this could be the game that sees Need for Speed on the comeback trail. After Pro-Street, which was the worst NFS game ever and Undercover which was improved on PS, but still not a whole lot great, Shift could be seen as a fun but realistic racing game at heart.
We cant wait to see what Shift can offer at E3.
8 – Alan Wake (Xbox 360)
We havent seen alot of the game since its reveal at E3 2005, infact the last time we even seen anything was back in October when we got new screens and a new trailer. But now, Alan Wake has to awake and be at that Microsoft conference on Monday.
It’s probably gonna be one of Microsoft’s big hitters this Christmas alongside Halo 3: ODST, which is why they need to show something. Still, if a game like this can take all the time in the world and still come out on top, we’re all for it.
7 – Halo 3: ODST (Xbox 360)
This will be the pinnacle of Microsoft’s conference on Monday, we simply cant wait to see what this game can do for Halo. But this is no expansion pack, no. A story set up before Halo 3, brand new multiplayer maps as well as the maps included from Halo 3 and it’s subsequent map packs and much more, you wouldn’t expect much less from this, Bungie’s last game in the Halo universe.
Prepare to drop into the shitstorm of midnight launches for this when it comes out in the Autumn.
6 – BioShock 2 (PLAYSTATION 3/Xbox 360)
We’re thrown back into the deep end again with BioShock 2. Set after the first BioShock, No.2 sees you play as the original Big Daddy taking on the Big Sister trying to rebuild Rapture to the state it once was. Plus, with multiplayer confirmed for the game, this could be something to really keep your eyes for this week.
We cant wait for October.
Come back at midday tomorrow for a list of games that never made the top 10, but still keep an eye on at E3 next week before Part 2 tomorrow.
