Codemasters Hints At Dragon Rising 2

Dragon Rising

Despite the game being out for a few days, Executive Producer Sion Lenton has strongly suggested on the official Codemasters forums that players, especially console gamers, can expect a sequel to Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising; maybe in a full on multi platform game, a console exclusive, or in the form just a big batch of DLC.

“The team have been eagerly reading the reviews and all your feedback on the forums and we’ve been very pleased with how the games been received, especially by console users. One of my main goals on this project was to introduce console gamers to this genre and get them excited about the possibilities of actually having to think about their actions in combat. I feel we have achieved this and I feel we are at the beginning of a very exciting journey for the Flashpoint series, We’re already prototyping new features and our Ego tech moves forwards in leaps and bounds – watch this space!”

“Beginning of a very exciting journey for the series” strongly hints that this is only the start of what could grow to a Call Of Duty sized number of titles, with an updated Ego engine. It can only be a good thing.

  2. Well,

I am surprised that the company has been pleased about the reviews of the players of OPF:DR, for the majority of the tactical PC community clearly rejected it. Heck, even Operation Flashpoint is better, has less bugs by now, and comes with a dedicated server.

Or, even better, how can You expect this game to compete with Virtual Battlespace 2 lite ( aka JCOVE), that is freely availible? Or AMRA, or ARMA 2?

Sorry folks, I do not fall for Your propaganda.
