Super Smash Bros. Brawl – Hands on Preview – Brendan’s Verison

On the 22nd March, I had Hands on experience of playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl even before it will be released over here in Europe. I had hands on experience of playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl at the gaming event WTF in the Nerve Centre.

At WTF, once they heard that Super Smash Bros. Brawl was going to be played on the Wii, it was a mad dash to get over to the Wii and get playing it. I decided to use the classic controller for playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl because the Wii remote and Knunchuck is just to annoying to try and play Smash Bros with.
In the first round of the playing the game, you had me, Johnny and two other people who were attending WTF. In the first round I deced to play as Ike and Johnny played as Snake(so obvious). For every round we done it on a random map and either way we were all screwing up because none of us knew the controlls. Sadly I didnt get to finish my first round because I had to play my match in the Guitar Hero 3 Tourney.

Now trying to get playing Super Smash Bros.Brawl was very hard to do because you had alot of people all hanging around the area it was playing on. After a while I managed to get back on(thanks to my brother who I let take my place). It was quite funny when playing against Johnny, especially when he was playing as Snake.

One of the greatest moments of playing Super Smash Bros. Brawl was when a Smash Ball appeared and you had me, Johnny and some others shouting ” GET THE SMASH BALL!!!”, and then once we got it ” HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO YOUR SMASH ATTACK?” At the most only two people managed to do the smash attack, in which we had to suffer attacks from Super Sonic and Samus.

Also when I was standing watching people play Smash Bros, I had seen that someone was playing as Meta Knight and they were using Meta Knight with the Darker kind of armour(in which he wore all black and had red eyes), After seeing that I had actually said ” they should re-name Meta-Knight to Emo-Knight”(couldnt resist).

Our Thoughts: It was a great day at WTF, espically getting to play Super Smash Bros. Brawl. I really cant wait for when it comes out here but it may not come out here until Setember or later but if your interested in buying it, I suggest you buy yourself the Freeloader which allows you to play international games on your Wii. Also I did not play as Gandolf!

Once Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out over here, I suggest picking it up and giving it try because you wont be disapointed, espcially with the Wifi features!
