Crackdown 2 Could Still Happen

When Microsoft Games Studios announced the multiplayer beta of Halo 3 would be included into the full retail verison of Crackdown, many people thought that this was a ruse to make us go out and buy the game for more sales.

I’m pretty certain that alot of people did that, even I’ll admit to doing that. But in all honesty, even without the Halo 3 beta, Crackdown was a fantastic game in it’s own right. The game was absoutely open ended and free to go anywhere.

And because of the popular success the game got, there are a couple of more games which seems to be following the same formula Crackdown did with both of them out in 2009, Prototype from Sierra for the PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360 and inFamous from Sucker Punch for the PLAYSTATION 3.

But when it was said long ago that Crackdown 2 wont happen, alot of people were very sad. Okay, sad probably aint the right word but still, it was bad news.

But has Real Time World’s, the developer of the game, thrown us the biggest glimor of hope that Crackdown 2 could very well happen

In a conversation with Videogaming 24/7, Studio Head of Real Time Worlds, Colin MacDonald has said that a sequel could still happen but if there is one, it’ll come after the release of their new MMO for the PC and Xbox 360, APB.

Referring to not moving straight onto a 2nd game:

“It was a horrible, horrible decision that we still dwell on. “But I don’t think the door’s closed. Obviously, right now we’re tied up with APB and everything else, but hopefully in the future we’ll have the resource and something can be worked out with Microsoft.”

Dear mother of God Microsoft, make this happen, please!!!
