E3 2009: Sony Announce Motion Controller for PS3

playstation-3At their press conference tonight, Sony announced a brand new motion controller for the PLAYSTATION 3. It’s simply known at this as the “PLAYSTATION 3 Motion Controller”.

It was shown as a prototype, and is subject to change. The games shown for it include Sword play, planning battlefields and showing what the controller can do, like hold a sword, baseball bat to play baseball games and hold guns. It also showed a First Person perspective for the remote, during a gun demo and a battlefield demo (Ed note: not EA’s Battlefield, we must stress).

It was mentioned that it could be out by Spring 2010 for PLAYSTATION 3, according to SCEA’s Jack Tretton. Richard Parks, the creator of the EyeToy on PS2, showed off the controller.
