This cant bode well for the West.
Square Enix hasn’t died down fears that Final Fantasy XIII could suffer further delays, according to a press meeting which took place to discuss Square’s Q1 09 earnings, according to FF Union. They quote an un-named figure as their source, but we assume it’s Square Enix president, Yoichi Wada who said:
“God knows. … Is the truth (laughs). I’ll try!”
This was when asked if Final Fantasy XIII will be released in the fiscal year in Japan at least. No question it will, but it wont hit Europe and the West till 2010, when it’s due for PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. Expect our hands on preview of the game due very soon.
Square havent announced their E3 plans as yet.
