Would You Pay For Modern Warfare 2 Online?
Speaking to GameCentral, Activision has been talking about using a similar subscription model to games like World Of WarCraft for Call Of Duty, claiming that paying for online features is a result of fan demand.
“Our gamers are telling us there’s lots of services and innovation they would like to see that they’re not getting yet,” they said. “There is demand from the core gamers to pay up for that.”
Would you pay to play MW2 online?

yet another stupid move from Activision, the most hated company in the industry. I hate those cocky bastards with a passion.
November 16, 2009 at 11:24 pm
No. I dont even wanna play the game itself.
November 16, 2009 at 11:41 pm
No. Like the previous poster, I don’t even want to play the game. I’m not a fan of Call of Duty or the company that published it.

haha Activision is the worst. no wonder Infinity Ward wants to separate. But people please stop the MW2 hate, you know you bought the game and enjoying it right now.

LOL! hell no.
What a fucking joke. There’s much better games to pay monthly for out there. I love modern warfare 2 online to bits. It’s amazing. But strangely, it is definitely something i would not pay for. It’s just not worth it. I pay monthly for Aion. THAT is worth it because it’s practically a massive never ending game. Same goes for WoW. Just not enough content in MW2 to justify paying for the online service. besides, isn’t that why I pay £30 a year to Xbox Live? o.0

what is this a joke?
i was hoping on buying MW2 for PC but after i read about all the bullshit they did to it i immediately changed my mind and signed the Petition. i now have a hate for IW and Activision and as always, the Dictator behind it Bobby Kotick and wont purchase any of their products or recommend it to anyone. If people dont do anything about this, other Developers may do the same.
November 17, 2009 at 12:24 am
Are they fucking kidding? Do they know who most of their players are? If they make a paid subscription for COD online there will be many less players. All of the kids that bought this game probably won’t play anymore. People like me won’t play anymore. Activision pisses me off so much.
November 17, 2009 at 12:45 am
Nope.
November 17, 2009 at 12:49 am
No way. Once call of duty cost money to play then its over
November 17, 2009 at 12:51 am
FUCK NO!!
November 17, 2009 at 12:58 am
Hahahahahhahahaahaha. That’s the most ridiculous and greediest bullsh*t i have heard in the whole year. Wow Kotick, ur are such a to0l, man. No, i wouldn’t pay for that, in fact, i have not even purchased Cod. 9v9 mp does not equal MMO. But i wish they do it, so that it backfires and we could laugh at their failure.
Seriously guys, these fat cats need to be stopped, because it only takes one rotten apple to spoil the barrel and soon other fat cats will follow on and in less two blinks and a fart you’ll have all these j3rk0ffs wanting to cash in for every mp or online feature.
I HOPE YOU NOTICE this is why they eliminated dedicated servers and limited many features; because they planned this from the beginning. CAT IN THE HAT, motherf**kers.
November 17, 2009 at 1:22 am
Nope, I’d just move on to another game that didn’t charge. MAG, Bad Company 2, etc.
November 17, 2009 at 1:24 am
They stand to make millions and millions of dollars just from sales on game that really did not have an update on graphics (using same old engine). That should be enough to cover whatever services they are talking about! Screw you ACtivision!
November 17, 2009 at 1:48 am
nope i wont pay for garbage psn id ljlrj yes i didnt bought that game it worthless
November 17, 2009 at 2:00 am
Nah, i wouldn’t pay, since i’m not going to buy the game anyway it dosen’t matter. I’ve plenty of other things to spend my money on. Tekken 6, borderlands, Uncharted 2, Jak and Daxter the lost frontier, Little Big Planet (PSP), Assasins Creed 2. You get the picture, if i wanted another typical FPS i’d put in resistance 2 and actually bother completing it.

Buying the game itself was like a big accomplishment as the game in standard edition for our ps3 was priced at 80US$ in my country india and i had to sell some of my very favorite ps3 games to get this. And now they(Activision) want more money from gamers who have bought the game in order to play online? How more greedy can Activision can become huh?The reason we are all cherishing every minute of gaming on warzone and fifa online on psn is because of FREEEE of cost Online gaming.I just hope Activision doesnt charge us ps3 gamers, because if they do then i am going to sell the game the next minute and get back to good old days of Warzone on killzone2.Activision name should be changed to Greedyvision
November 17, 2009 at 2:24 am
it would be stupid do that they would loose a lot fans big time even the xbox live fan would not pay for it because they are all ready pay for there live serves’ it would be a stupid move by Activision to that believe me….i have both 360 and ps3 i would not buy a call of duty again…
November 17, 2009 at 3:52 am
I payed too damn much for the game, and if they think they are getting another penny from me they are very mistaken. I bought this to hold me over till Battlefield and thats the only reason i bought it..
November 17, 2009 at 4:15 am
who exactly at activision said this?
November 17, 2009 at 4:38 am
I’ll pay for a MW2 map pack. But pay to play?
Not a damn dime.
