By Jonathan Cullen.
For the past two years, managing GOONL!NE has been nothing short of incredible.
It really has been one hell of a ride. Sometimes, it hasn’t been great, but it is a fantastic experience that I have had, and one which I will treasure the most. Especially with staff like James Love, David Pitchforth and Will Swarbrick, plus our fantastic freelance contributors Jennifer Allen and Martin Gaston.
But it is time to give up this position of power for another position of power, abet a slightly less powerful position than here, but still exciting enough.
This morning, it was announced that I will be Associate UK Editor for VG247. I accepted the post just on Friday, with the announcement not being until January 4th, which was when I was due to start. It’s clearly obvious that I couldn’t manage two sites at the one time, particularly one as big as VG247. I had to make a hard choice, but in the end, I went for the choice that would offer me fresh chances and fantastic challenges, which I know I shall be able to conquer.
It’s best the announcement was made today, so our friends and respective PR partners who we use for GO got a massive heads-up before the Christmas break. Right now, at this present moment, I am still Managing Editor for GOONL!NE until the end of the month before I stand down from the role, so I can relax on New Years Day, celebrate my birthday on January 2nd and nurse the hangover on the 3rd, before starting my new role on the 4th.
As for who will take over my role, my second in command at the moment James Love and senior editor David Pitchforth will take over when the Christmas/New Year break ends as it is. Will Swarbrick will still be our features and news editor.
There are so many people I would like to thank for the past two years who have inspired me, helped me with my career in some way and helped GOONL!NE what it is today.

If I didn’t mention you, I must have forgotten to. Sorry about that, but you’re all awesome.
For the past six months, I have been working with some of the best people in the industry on VG247 with Pat Garratt, Steph Nunneley and Nathan Grayson. Now I get to join up with these guys full-time, I know it’s going to be full on awesomeness in a wheelbarrow.
I might pop back every now and then, and do some odd review or two, but as it is, my tenure as editor is finished.
All that is left for me to say is thank you to all of you. And if I don’t see you on VG247… Good Afternoon, Good Evening and Good Night. =)

Kinda cheesy, innit.
