Analyst predicts 15-25% adoption rate for Kinect

Analyst Sandeep Aggarwal from Caris & Co is predicting Microsoft’s Kinect to be in the homes of 15-25% of current Xbox 360 owners in the first year of the release of the hardware.

If the lower estimate of a 15% rate of uptake is correct, and at the $149 price-point, this would  bring in approximately $900 million in revenue for Microsoft in the first year for Kinect, with  the new hardware meaning a higher adoption rate and increased market share gain for the 360. Aggarwal also figures that Microsoft could sell an one million consoles in the first year which would bring in a further $300 million revenue, making Natal one hell of a success in it’s first year.
