Update: Full PR added after the break.
Original Story: Warner Bros. Interactive has confirmed that they will be publishing Batman: Arkham Asylum 2.
The original was published by Eidos earlier this Summer, but was taken over by Square Enix in April, with the merger only becoming official as soon as November.
Warner are a lot more keen this time on publishing titles from their own IP stable.
“We are thrilled to build a global game franchise from Batman: Arkham Asylum, which is receiving an incredible response from gamers and Batman fans around the world,” said WB Interactive head Martin Tremblay.
Despite the change of publisher though, Rocksteady will still be developing the sequel to one of this year’s best games.
“We are honoured to create the next chapter in this compelling story and promise to deliver another game worthy of the Dark Knight,” said game director Safton Hill. The studio beat off Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward to name a few to win Best Studio at the VGAs last night.
AA2 was announced at the event, with the Joker and Harley Quinn returning, with the teaser hinting that Arkham has become Gotham City itself.
