New Ghost Recon Coming This Year

Posted in PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , on April 30, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

ghost-reconThere is a new Ghost Recon coming from Ubisoft and it’s coming this year.

Thats according to their Q4 fiscal results, published today which confirmed Red Steel 2 and Splinter Cell: ConViction for release this year. Of course, that may not mean this calendar year, it could be this fiscal year which extends all the way into March 2010.

No platforms announced yet, but Ubisoft’s been emailed about it and we may hopefully find out that it’ll be at E3. The keyword is “hopefully”. No platforms yet though, but we assume it’ll be on PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360. Whatever the Ghost Recon game is, it cant be GRAW 3, considering the ending to GRAW 2 and the links to HAWX and EndWar.

Splinter Cell: ConViction Confirmed for 2009

Posted in Xbox 360 with tags , , , , on April 29, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

splinter-cell-convictionDo you wanna know how long it’s been since we even heard a single ounce of anything from Splinter Cell: ConViction? Let us put it into context for you:

  • We were on Freewebs at the time
  • Known as Gamzsone V3
  • Revealed at the same time as EndWar

But now, as GOONL!NE, it seems that ConViction has spent too long in the shadows and Sam Fisher is coming this year… or this fiscal year at least.

According to Ubisoft’s Q4 earnings statement, which also seen Red Steel 2 announced, Splinter Cell: ConViction is coming this year and is still exclusive to the Xbox 360. A re-emergence at E3? Oh for sure, oh for sure. We’ve left comment with Ubi and will hopefully get a response tomorrow if it’ll appear at E3.

Oh, and to clarify when it was actually last seen, it was at Ubidays 2007.

2 years… a hell of a long time.

fable-ii-artAccoring to SI, Lionhead Studios have an impending announcement coming tomorrow.

Captivate 09: Lost Planet 2 to Have Demo Available at E3

Posted in Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , on April 29, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

lost-planet-3Jun Takeuchi, producer of Lost Planet 2 and Resident Evil 5, has gone on record at Captivate 09 last week saying that there will be a demo available for the game at E3 in June.

The last Lost Planet had a demo available at E3 2007 on Xbox Live Marketplace.

According to Takeuchi, he said:

We are working hard right now to make sure there is a playable version of this game at E3 for anybody who’s going to be in attendance there. And we’re also hoping to have a downloadable demo – one of the things that was very popular from the original Lost Planet.

We’re also hoping to have a downloadable demo that anyone can play, and download just as soon as we can. “We’re hoping that that downloadable demo will be available to, you know, not just members of the press, but also to users, round about E3 as well.

Game’s exclusive to the Xbox 360 for now, but Takeuchi did refuse to deny a PS3 version down the line. We think there will be, there was a PS3 version a year after the release of the original LP on the Xbox 360.

Captivate 09: Dead Rising 2 to Have Multiplayer

Posted in PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , on April 29, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

dead-rising-5Dead Rising 2 will have multiplayer when it’s released.

Thats according to Capcom’s Kenji Infuane, speaking at Captivate 09, accoring to Eurogamer. According to Infuane:

“We’re at a point in game history that you need to have some form of multiplayer component in a game. Single-player alone is not going to cut it. So rest assured we are going to put multiplayer in the game, but I can’t go into specifics about what type of multiplayer as that directly relates to some of the game systems that we don’t want to talk about at this event. It will be online multiplayer, so keep that in mind.”

The game won’t be out till sometime next year for PLAYSTATION 3 & Xbox 360.
