Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios with tags , , , , on June 30, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

uncharted-2-multiplayerNaughty Dog co-president Evan Wells has just confirmed in a livetext to the US PS Blog that a second multiplayer beta for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be coming before release, but dates for it, or for that matter how to get your hands on it, is to be decided yet. Asked if there was gonna be a open beta, Wells basically answered there would be.

Yes, we’re going to have another multiplayer demo before the game hits shelves. The exact timing isn’t finalized yet, but it should be available to an even wider group this time, so if you missed the last one I don’t think you’ll have any problem getting in this one.

Earlier, Wells confirmed a date for the game would be incoming, but would give no more then that. Catch our hands on impressions of the first multiplayer beta here.

It’s out this Fall for the PS3.

RUMOR: New York Weddling Listing (we know, innit) Cites Fable III in Development

Amy E. Gilbert and Joshua Samuels Atkins are to be married Sunday in San Francisco. Rabbi Bruce Greenbaum is to officiate in the Penthouse of the Fairmont Hotel.

Ms. Gilbert, 31, is keeping her name. She is studying for a Ph.D. in molecular medicine at King’s College in London. She graduated from Middlebury.

She is a daughter of Kathy Kearns of San Francisco and the late Nathan Gilbert, who lived in San Mateo, Calif. Her mother retired as a program manager for Meals on Wheels in Santa Cruz, Calif. Her father was a lawyer in San Mateo.

Mr. Atkins, 34, is the lead game designer for Fable III, a video game series produced by Lionhead Studios in Guildford, England. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Wait, what?

Mr. Atkins, 34, is the lead game designer for Fable III, a video game series produced by Lionhead Studios in Guildford, England. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Ah, we see. Personally, we’re siding with the fact that it could be a typo. However, thats not to say Lionhead are working on the game. Peter Molyneux has come out and said in the past that he has arc’s set up for Fable’s III, IV and V. Plus, earlier this year at the gaming BAFTA’s, comedian Jonathan Ross said that he was doing voicework on the game.

Lionhead however are a busy bunch for Fable III right now though, they’re working on the Natal game, Milo.

RUMOR: PS2 BC Coming Back to PLAYSTATION 3

Posted in Other Gaming, PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , on June 30, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

ps3Let the shitstorm of manly fluids of PS3 owners or potential owners commence. SCEA’s filed a patent for technology which would allow backwards compatabillty for the PS2 to the PS3 without any hardware change.

According to Silconera, Sony has the technology to be able to add in the Emotion Engine, the PS2′s graphics engine as what Cell is to the PS3 if you didnt already know (stupid!), without making any signifigant hardware changes to the PS3, although it does seem like a hardware change is coming regardless, we think you know what that is. It also opens the way to PS2 downloads on the PS Store which has long been rumored.

PS2 BC on the PS3 was in the console from launch but since then, it’s being removed from all later PS3 SKU’s, the only way to have a BC PS3 was if you had a PS3 launch console, and even then it would only play most PS2 games, but not all.

Keep looking, Cologne.

MAG to Be “beta trial members only” Beta

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios with tags , , , , on June 29, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

magLooking for a way to get into the MAG beta? Try and become a beta trial member in Europe, it looks like, for now, to be the only way your gonna get in the beta.

Shimja, European franchise producer for MAG and SOCOM, has said that it will be a beta trial members only affair according to a post of the EU PS Forums.

Sorry to pee on your proverbials all, but MAG is likely to be tested by the Beta Trial community only in Europe. If plans change then you’ll be made aware of how you can register, but I just don’t want people getting their hopes up unnecessarily.

This cant bode well. It’s out this Fall for PS3.
