Over 20 Minutes Of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising Footage

Dragon Rising

Oh, you lucky, lucky people.

There’s over 12 and a half minutes of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising gameplay in these videos, and another 12 minute interview. Suffice to say, the game’s a far cry from Far Cry, with a mix of hardcore, realistic damage, ballistics, armor, vehicles, weapons, island layout and a whole lot of lead to the face. It’s not really going to fight for top graphics this year, but when you have the fear Operation Flashpoint promises – you won’t care.

Game’s out on the 9th October, and the videos are after the jump.

GOONL!NE is in Dublin – Why? [Update]

Posted in Microsoft Games Studios, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , on September 15, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Halo 3 ODSTUpdate: Quite the oposite actually. NDA for ODST, free on Forza 3. Impressions to come soon. Halo 3: ODST content coming on Sunday.

Original Story: We’re here in Dublin, landed about an hour ago from Derry.

But unlike before, where we might have mentioned we were here to see a concert or two, we’re here to see something… or rather, some things.

Games. But what games?

How does Halo 3: ODST and Forza Motorsport 3 sound? We’re most likely going to be under an NDA for Forza 3, but considering ODST is out in 7 days, we’re free to say anything.

And for the casuals too, there is the new Lips. But the ones to look out for is Forza 3 and ODST.

Stay tuned, sports fans.

PSM3 Gives Uncharted 2…21/20?

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios with tags , , on September 14, 2009 by Chris Hawke

Uncharted 2

And here we were, thinking that was mathematically impossible…

Turns out, in a very shaky photo (We think we see a PS3 Slim in the background…), that the French version of magazine PSM3 gives Uncharted 2 a score of…21/20. Which is 1 above perfect. Uncharted 2 is MORE THAN PERFECT.

Quote from the mg: ‘”Long, visuallya stunning, deep and explosive, Uncharted 2 combines all the qualities you can find in a videogame, and more! A new milestone has been reached in the videogame history.”‘

Weren’t excited for the game? You will be now. 17th October is when you’ll see…Scan after the jump.

Uncharted 2 Trophy List Revealed

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios with tags , on September 13, 2009 by Chris Hawke

uncharted-2

And it’s seems…quite simple.

There are 48 trophies in all, with 36 bronze, 8 silver, 3 gold, and the all important Platinum. However, scroll through them and you’ll find that, actually, they’re all pretty basic. Find X number of treasures, or kill X number of baddies with X gun, and so on. No cryptic puzzle in the trophy closet then, but judging by this Train Level, the game should be anything but simple.

Game’s out 13th October in the US.

Thanks, PS3 Trophies.

Artist’s Idea for a New XMB is Gorgeous

PS3

Every Firmware Update, there’s always some problems. ‘Where’s my favorite button?’ or ‘Where the icon gone?’ or ‘EWWW, GRAY BOXES!’.

FW 3.00 added a lot to PS3, but it seemed to add too much. Instead of the old, clean, friends list, PS3 users were outraged that friends are now encapsulated by large, ugly gray boxes. Sony have said they’re looking into changes. But maybe the internet can give us a better idea…

Step up Steven Shaw, aka Scorchio. He’s made a short video showing off his idea for a friends list, and without bursting Sony’s bubble…It’s gourgous. There’s a little website up taking you through the changes he’s made, including a new Gamer ID card, and new Photo Gallery and Store button. He’s even got a , asking Sony to take notice. And frankly, we really hope they do.

Video after the jump.

Tron: Legacy to Be Made Into a Game

Posted in Other Gaming with tags , , on September 12, 2009 by Chris Hawke

TR2N

Was there ever any doubt?

A sequel/remake  moving picture viewer (film) of the 80s Classic Tron, called Tron: Legacy, is set for a 2010 release, and so, it seems, is the video game.

The movie is kinda weird. It’s where the internet has become a sort of real place, like the Matrix, and people inside it play a deadly game which involves real killing (A quote often repeated; ‘It’s just a game!’, before he gets cut to pieces). All you need to know is super fast motorbikes + Amazing visual style + Multiplayer (obviously) = Win. That’s Maths right there, kids.

Thanks, Latino Review

The De-Evolution Of Grand Theft Auto

gta-iv-lost-and-damned

Woah. First thing’s first – I am NOT bashing GTA IV. I loved it. Sure, it had flaws, but so does every game, and when you take into account the wild speculation and hype surrounding the game (‘Hey, I hear you can drive across the whole of America!’), then its place as Game Of The Year ’08 was justified.

But what of those people who whine about the lack of planes? They’ve got a point. I’m not saying IV would have been better with a jet for two, but what about all those elements lost in the transition from last, to next-gen? Hey, sounds like a good set up for a list…

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags , on September 11, 2009 by Chris Hawke

a-crack-in-time-2

You know you want some.

Well, why not take all 7 minutes, then? A youtube video shows ‘somewhere in the universe’, and that somewhere is full of awesome. Great gameplay, vivid colours and Mario-style platforming. It’s a feast for your eyes.

And it’s after the jump. Game’s out on the 27th October in America.
