New Behind The Scenes Boarderlands Trailer…Is Actually Funny?

Hey, here’s a new one – a comic behind the scenes video of Borderlands that’s…comic.

The first thing to notice is how beautiful it looks. The Cel-Shading is the best move Gearbox could have made, and it’s payed off. Then, the second surprise – it’s funny. Not only is the little robot full of character, but Steve really made our day.

We can’t wait until the 20th October – but hopefully this will tide you over.

What We Want From…Grand Theft Auto V

Posted in PlayStation 3, Rockstar Games, Take Two, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , on September 8, 2009 by Chris Hawke

GTA V

Grand Theft Auto V: London, to be specific. The fans want it, and Rockstar know it, so why not England’s capital? Going back to Vice City or San Andreas would be billed as ‘lazy’ after going back to Liberty City, and if they were to make a new playground, R* would have to search for an English-speaking, neon-lit metropolis filled with seedy underground crime and many, many cars. Tokyo isn’t English, Canada is hardly a metropolis with underground crime – in fact, unless you were to head back to America, no other place on Earth would fit in with the series’ cynical capitalism-bashing.

We first set shore in 1999, with two London-based expansions to the original GTA – London: 1969, of which you will have fond memories, and London: 1961, which…is best left forgotten. The graphical prowess of those days was…limited, and the London expansions were basically GTA 1 with some new textures, buses, and voices. But imagine what could happen today…

4 New Assassin’s Creed II Shots Look Dark, Stabby

Posted in PlayStation 3, Ubisoft, Xbox 360 with tags , , , on September 6, 2009 by Chris Hawke

assassins-creed-2-1

Ubisoft have unleashed 4 new Assassin’s Creed II shots, and each one looks as lovely as the next (But one looks best, obviously).

The first sees Ezio scalling a wall (OMG NO WAI!), the second, pushing some unlucky bugger off a plank, then stabbing another unlucky bugger in the heart/chest/lungs (Awesome), and the final is set on the moonlit rooftops of Venice, as some friends of the Assassin help drag and hide a body. Crime pays, kids.

We’ll have to wait until the 20th November to try the game, but it’s gonna be worth it.

They’re after the jump. Catch the new trailer released for it last week here.

Hidden Feature in PS3 Firmware 3.0

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags on September 6, 2009 by James Love

PS3

I’m sure many of you PS3 gamers out there have had experiences online where some users microphones have given terrible feedback, well now, help is at hand from Sony’s latest Firmware update in the shape of an Echo Canceller.

Head over to the settings section of the XMB and scroll down to Accessory Settings, and then choose Audio Device Settings. Move the cursor down to your headset, and hit Triangle. From there, choose Settings off the menu, and you can then use the Echo Canceller.

It’s strange to think a feature like this was left off any changelogs for 3.00, as it could be a Godsend for many online gamers, and may be particularly good for those of you who use the PS Eye as a mic.

Playr Returns To UK Screens

Posted in Nintendo Wii, Other Gaming, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , on September 6, 2009 by James Love

Playr

After being off air for the last few months, Playr is returning to our screens as of today on Film 24.

Playr released a PR about their return

“A big hello to anyone that’s still out there. Congratulations on your stamina. Yes, reports of our death have been greatly exagerated. Though we haven’t been on screens in the UK, we have continued as usual elsewhere in the world. And no we haven’t rebranded. So any other video game programmes you may have had the misfortune to endure recently are nothing to do with us, guv, honest!

But here’s a little bit of news. We will be returning to UK screens very, very soon on a new home. Check back in a few days for full details. Oh, and nice to see you again! You can sleep easily once more knowing that all is right in the world again! ”

Playr will be shown on Film 24 (Sky Channel 157) at the following times:

  • Saturday at 18.00pm
  • Sunday at 12.00pm
  • Monday at 18.00pm

Thanks, Ve3tro
