fifa 10

With FIFA 10 less than 4 weeks away, it might time for all you footie addicts to brush up on your attacking skills for EA’s flagship footie sim.

Narrated by Martin Tyler, the video takes you through the basics such as dribbling (showcasing FIFA 10′s new 360 degree dribbling), passing (from simple ground passes to crossing) and shooting.

The video does a good job of covering the basics and will be a useful watch those who are new to the game.

FIFA 10 launches in the EU on October 2nd accross all formats, whilst the demo is due for release on September 10th to whet the appetites of all FIFA (and possibly some PES) fans.

Left 4 Dead DLC Crashes Home This Thursday

Posted in Valve, Xbox 360 with tags , , , on September 6, 2009 by Chris Hawke

left-4-dead

According to Valve’s , the L4D DLC ‘Crash Course’ is due to be released this Thursday.

The add-on campaign is set after the events of No Mercy, when the helicopter pilot turns out to be infected (How unlucky) and Zoey has to kill him, bringing down the chopper in a zombie-infested driving course.

It only consists of two maps, and therefore is much shorter than the other campaigns, but that’s exactly what Valve are hoping for – with health-packs and guns always in the same place, Crash Course will be a quick, balanced and probably very bloody versus mode.

PC users get it free, while Xbox 360 owners will have to fork out 560 MS points.

Mafia II Producer Talks About Game

Posted in 2k Games, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , on September 6, 2009 by Chris Hawke

In a video interview with XGN, Danby Grace, producer of Mafia II,  discusses the various elemts elements of the highly anticipated game.

The sequel looks incredibly promising, with beautiful visuals, some class voice acting and snow. And when you’ve got a game with snow in it, you know you’re in for a good time.

One thing to note is the fact the game takes place over a ten year period. We’ve only seen footage of a ‘young’ Vito, and it’ll be interesting to see how the game evolves – new cars? New guns? Specs of grey hair?

We’ll have to wait for 2010 to find out.

First Brink Gameplay Footage

Brink

The first gameplay footage of Bethesda’s Brink has slipped out from PAX.

Despite little information on the game, it’s looking surprisingly smooth, with that seems like good lighting and ragdoll, and some great vistas.

Considering Bethesda came out with the superb but highly…broken Fallout 3, we can only hope the Brink does not suffer the same problems.

New Uncharted 2 Footage

Uncharted 2

New, off-screen footage from PAX, highlights the graphical beauty and smooth gameplay of Uncharted 2

The scene is one we’ve heard about, but never before seen. Climbing onto the top of the train, Drake fights his way through a number of goons before an attack helicopter pops up and tries to make short work of our hero.

The game oozes quality. The off-screen footage doesn’t do the lush jungle justice, and the rag-doll on the moving train just wants to make you pause and admire. And drool.

Video after the jump; the game’s out in October.

ratchet-clank-2

A new trailer, straight from PAX, has been released showing off the weapons to be found in Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time.

The trailer, set to classical music (Works as a soundtrack to anything), shows the slo-mo carnage the Ratchet can unleash, and it looks beautiful. Insomniac have always been known for their great weapons, and Crack In Time looks to cement that knowledge.

Oh, and the Groove-a-tron a back. Win.

Video after the jump.

Game’s out on October 27th.

Sam Fisher’s Trademark NVG’s Return in Conviction

Posted in Ubisoft, Xbox 360 with tags , , on September 5, 2009 by Chris Hawke

Splinter Cell Conviction 2

At PAX, Ubisoft were showing the same demo that we’ve seen a hundred times at E3, when creative director Maxime Beland let it be known that the trademark, uber-cool ‘Fisher Goggles’ will make a triumphant return.

A video shown at PAX showed Sam wearing the goggles while in his chic white-collar threads. No only can the tri-scoped headset be used for the good old green night vision, but also a new thermal mode, which turns everything black and white, while showing enemies though walls as white-hot fodder.

It’s just one more reason to get excited for 2010.

Thanks, Joystiq.
