Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , on July 10, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

killzone-2UPDATE: Wait, there is?

Original Story: Despite reports of an updated trophy list for the game, pointed out by Kotaku, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has told GOONL!NE that there are no current plans for a 3rd Killzone 2 map pack at this time.

A SCEE rep told us that, despite the new trophies which would look like new weapons and maps are incoming, they have “no plans to release a 3rd at this moment in time”.

We’ve only just released the 2nd map pack (Flash & Thunder), and haven’t made any announcements about, or have plans to release a 3rd, at this moment in time.

We’ve reached out to Guerrilla Games about it anyways, we’re hoping to hear back from them shortly. The game was released back in February (a 10 from us) with two subsequent map packs, the most recent being Flash & Thunder which are remakes of Killzone 1 multiplayer maps.

Acti State Why Modern Warfare 2 is Going Back to Call of Duty

Posted in Activision, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , on July 10, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

COD MW2Pissing us off for the umpteenth time by doing so, Activision decided to bring back the Call of Duty name into Modern Warfare 2. So now, instead of Modern Warfare 2, it is now once again Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. But why did they re-name it (again)?

According to an Acti rep, speaking to Kotaku, it was to signify the game as the first true sequel for the series.

“Infinity Ward’s Modern Warfare 2 is the direct sequel to Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare,” a spokesperson told Kotaku. “We have focused our attention on Modern Warfare in order to most effectively communicate the fact that this is the first true sequel in the Call of Duty series. Infinity Ward, the original creators of the Call of Duty franchise, has said from the beginning Modern Warfare 2 resides in the Call of Duty universe. This is reflected in the title’s package.”

We’ve reached out to Acti UK for a word or two. Game’s out on Novemer 10th worldwide for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
