New Look

Posted in Uncategorized on January 16, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Now, I know we’ve not being online long but over the next few weeks, we’re going to be implamenting a new look on the site. As of yesterday, I started testing out a new HTML layout for the site on a seperate blog because I didn’t want to fuck up the site only after 2 days. Anyways, if this succeeds and goes to plan with no problem, we should have a much better looking blog and as part of the deal with Ubisoft, we’ll get media privilges from them.

How long this’ll take I dont know but hopefully not too long.

Call of Duty 4 and Spore Heading to Mac

Posted in Uncategorized on January 16, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

I may as well post it before Ryan does. During Apple’s Macworld keynote, it was announced that Activision would bring Call of Duty 4 for the Mac but as well as that, EA announced that they would be bringing their new IP to the Mac, Spore, from Will Wright the creator of The Sims.

COD4 will be out in May for the Mac while Spore is to still get a set in iron date for the Mac as well as PC.

Apple also mentioned something about thinnest laptop ever or something, I wasn’t paying attention.

Not much was offered when the news broke on Forever Fantasy but it does confirm that new info on Final Fantasy XIII for the Playstation 3 will be in next week’s issue of Famitsu. It was confirmed in the exact issue where Super Smash Bros. Brawl got a Perfect Score from Japan’s biggest gaming magazine.

Microsoft Confirm Keynote at GDC 2008

Posted in Uncategorized on January 16, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Its been confirmed that at next months Game Devleoper’s Conference, Microsoft will be giving a keynote on the future on developing games called “A Future Wide Open: Unleashing the Creative Community”, presented by John Schappert which will reveal a fair bit of the console’s plans for 2008. It’s also rumored the recent outage on Xbox Live will be explained during that keynote and what the componsation package will be for gamers effected by it.

Jamil Moledina, Exectuive Director of GDC

The Game Developers Conference is the premiere stage for industry leaders to present their strategies for advancing the state of the art of games.

Given John’s experience and the Microsoft game development team behind him, we are confident that our attendees will not want to miss this glimpse into the future of how games will be made.

But GDC normally holds 2 keynotes, not 1. And while we do have conformation of 1, we still need the 2nd. And while it is only a rumor for now, we have heard that the 2nd keynote will come from none other then the head of the worldwide studios of Sony Computer Entertainment (and lovable good guy of gaming) Phil Harrison. If true, this would be his 3rd keynote in a row where in his 2006 keynote he revealed God of War 2, revealed the title of Resistance: Fall of Man as well as other things. 2006 was boring but in his last keynote last year, he majorly improved on it by unveiling Playstation Home (Revealed before to controversy by Kotaku) and the innovitive Little Big Planet.

If this keynote is indeed happening, it’ll be based on Playstation Home unveiling new details on the service as well as hopefully a cast in iron release date of the service or at least a cast in iron release date of the open beta of the service.

GDC is held between 18th-22nd February.

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters is Coming to PS2

Posted in Uncategorized on January 16, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

According to a site which was translated from Spanish into English so we could read what those buggers were saying, Sony has just released a white papaer which contains a list! Sony Computer Entertainment confirms on that list that Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, a PSP game just released over a year ago, will be ported to the Playstation 2. While I cant vouch for the game as I dont have it for the PSP, the Ratchet & Clank series is absoutely good fun especially with Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction for the Playstation 3.

Many people are arguing on the site as well that this could also open the way for a port for the PSP game, Daxter, a spin-off of the Jak & Daxter series for the PS2 which would be great news considering everybody loves Jak and Daxter.

Anyways, the R&C port for the PS2 is apparently due out in Europe on March 19th.

I think No More Heroes is a great game, there’s no other action game like it for the Wii. If it was a band, it would be really energetic, like the Arctic Monkeys.”

Microsoft: Pre-Order Lost Odyssey or You Dont Get the Full Game

Posted in Uncategorized on January 16, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

So, it appears that Microsoft are up to their money spinning ways again and this time, its come in the form of JRPG, Lost Odyssey. The game, from the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi, is somewhat broken into parts to let Microsoft get more money. Put it simply, if you dont pre-order the game, you get half of Lost Odyssey. You do pre-order it, you get the full works of the game.

This joins the many list of things of Microsoft grabbing your money, such as putting in the Halo 3 beta into Crackdown and Windows Vista. Lost Odyssey is an exclusive to to the Xbox 360 and is due out sometime this year in 2008 with a March release date for Japan.

Nintendo Fanboys! Goldeneye 007 ISN’T Heading To Live

Posted in Uncategorized on January 15, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

I reported on that Goldeneye 007 was to go to Xbox Live but Nintendo fanboys can look back as over on Digital Spy they reveal that Goldeneye 007 will not be heading to Xbox 360. Which is great news to Nintendo fanboys everywhere. The game was scrapped over legal issues over the licence because they couldn’t agree on if Nintendo should get a payment for the licence or a percentage of the games total sales if it was to go to Live.

Nintendo fanboys everywhere there is still hope.
