Apple Corps, MTV Game and Harmonix Gamesh have just announced that Harmonix will be developing a game based on The Beatles.
No platforms have been announced but we can assume it will be on PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360, possibly Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 2 but it will be out before christmas next year.
The game will not fall under the Rock Band name despite the fact that Harmonix are developing it and it is unclear if some Beatles stuff will go on the Rock Band shop at the time. Peripherals weren’t disscussed but it does sound like it will work with peripherals from Rock Band.
Giles Martin, son of the infamous 5th Beatle and their producer Sir George Martin, will be overseeing the project with every album and every song they ever did being on the game.
The game also has the blessing of Sir Paul Mc’Cartney, Ringo Starr and the widows of John Lennon and Sir George Harrison, Olivia Harrison and Yoko Ono.
CEO and Co-founder of Harmonix, Alex Rigopulos, stated that it was “a dream project”
The full press release is after the jump.
