Posted in PlayStation 3, PlayStation Network, PlayStation Store with tags , on November 24, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Update: SCEE’s just told GOONL!NE there is no set date yet.

Still, we know anyways it’s not far off anyways.

Original Story: According to 9lives (via TSA), Q Games’ PixelJunk Shooter has been given  a European date of December 10th.

Earlier, it was confirmed that the game would release in Japan on Christmas Eve.

We’ll follow up with SCEE for confirmation, but here is a hint: we reckon it’s bang on. Why? We just got review code for it earlier today, so we reckon the date is correct.

Still, just to be sure…

Eidos Montreal: Deus Ex 3 Cinematics Being Handled by Square Enix

Posted in Eidos, PlayStation 3, Square Enix, Xbox 360 with tags , , on November 24, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Eidos Montral GM Stephane D’Astous has revealed to Edge that Square Enix will be handling the cinematics for Deus Ex 3. Knowing Square Enix, it’ll be filled with CGI goodness.

Just in case you can’t remember, Square bought Eidos back in April.

“The cinematics — by which I mean any CGI pre-rendered cinematics — are going to be done in Tokyo by Square Enix, and that’s going to be amazing,” said D’Astous.

“It was in April when Square Enix acquired us, and by June, July I was trying to think of a project we could do together. One morning I woke up and I said, we’ll, they’re known for their cinematics, so why not get them involved with those?”

Epic. The RPG is out next year for the PS3 and 360. We’re still to see some gameplay footage of it though. So far, only concept art and a has been released.

How?

Well, after a quick search for Dead Space Concept Art, here’s what came up: Recognize The Mask? That means you can expect the first info and screenshots next month, in Issue 40.

UPDATE: Heavy Rain Features A Male Shower Scene

Posted in Official PlayStation Magazine, PlayStation 3 with tags , on November 23, 2009 by Chris Hawke

Yeah, you read that right. A week ago, we reported a cryptic tweet from suggesting that there was also a shower scene in Heavy Rain;

“Heavy Rain preview code GET! Whole team gathered around… to watch @bodbod take a shower. :-/ Looks stunning so far. (Not @bodbod)”

Obviously, we assumed it was Madison, who shows all in a strip scene. However,  from OPM, in response to when the public will be able to see the scene, reveals that it’s a male character having a clean;

“Early next year. (It’s a dude in the shower though.)”

The game is out in 2010 for the PS3.

European Game Releases – 16/11 – 20/11

A bit later then usual, but better now on release then never.

Still other then The Saboteur (R.I.P Pandemic), these are the last blockbusters of this year, but we go out with AAA games, not ass quailty games. Speaking of “ass”, the main game for this week is, of course, Assassin’s Creed II.

We’ve been covering it from the beginning of the year, before it was announced, up until now. Look for review on it shortly, but we’re properly pumped for it, lets just say.

Also out this week is Left 4 Dead 2 for the Xbox 360. This is another one which you should be getting asap by the looks of it. Dave has been writing up his review for a bit now, so expect it hopefully by early next week.

Catch the full list after the jump.

There’s always a hidden feature in a firmware update. It’s almost as if Sony turn a simple update into a game; how many secret changes can you find?

Well, we have found a brand new, unannounced feature in Firmware 3.10, and we’ve even got a picture of it.

If your Playstation 3 crashes, and you turn it off without pressing the PS button and selecting ‘Turn off system’, next time you boot up you can send an error report to Sony. Hopefully, all this information can help Sony find problems with the PS3 to patch up.
