Red Steel 3 confirmed, to use Vitality Sensor

French site LiveWii is reporting that the existence of a Red Steel 3 from the latest issue of French Nintendo Magazine. The translation reads:

Despite a slow start of the second game, the Red Steel series is going to be a trilogy… confirmation comes with an important detail: the game is compatible with the Wii Vitality Sensor as told in an interview Jason Vandenberghe, Art Director of Red Steel 2 at Ubisoft Montreal.

What exactly the Vitality Sensor is exactly is unknown, however there is the potential for Nintendo to release such a peripheral at E3 2010 to keep the Wii fresh.

Splinter Cell Conviction goes live on Steam in the US

For all you PC gamers wanting to play there is good news, it’s not available to download on Steam in the US.

The US version costs $60, or $65 for the Deluxe Edition, and the European Deluxe Edition which goes on sale on Friday will cost €55 or €49.99 if you would rather have the standard version. You can also pre-load the game if you’re desperete to play it as soon as Friday comes around.

Championship Manager Mini on the way

Tim Hodges, Brand Manager for Championship Manager has announced over the PlayStation Blog that the Championship Manager Mini will be hitting the store within a week.

The game is launching in Europe 29th of April for £4.99/€5.99, however the timing of the release is a strange one in that there are only 2 games left in Premiership season.

Sony unveil SingStar Remote

Sony have shown off a new feature for their SingStar range which will bring functionality to both the PlayStation 3 and the PSP.

Called SingStar Remote, it will come as part of the June update for SingStar and will allow you to connect PSP and PS3 to create a playlist of up to 20 songs.

Sims 3 coming to consoles

EA have today announced that The Sims 3 will be expanding into the console market.

This autumn will see the franchise appear on the Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and PlayStation 3 as well as the Nintendo DS.

Details on new Bond game released

CVG have unveiled the new title for Activision’s forthcoming James Bond title.

The new game will be called James Bond: Bloodstone and will not be tied in to Bond 23 movie. Rumours about the game speculate that it is more than just the racer that was first mentioned but that the game could also incorporate FPS or TPS mechanics.

The Passing DLC coming to L4D2

Valve have today announced the first piece of DLC for their zombie shooter, Left 4 Dead 2.

Titled ‘The Passing’, the new DLC brings the original Left 4 Dead survivors into meeting with the new characters. The DLC will bring new single-player, multiplayer and co-operative modes.

The DLC will be available April 22nd on 360 and PC, with it costing 560MS points on Xbox and nothing at all on PC. Lovely.

Tomb Raider and Devil May Cry 4 land on Games on Demand

Heavy Rain breaks the 1 million barrier

Sony have today announced that five weeks after it first launched, Heavy Rain has now sold over 1 million copies.

“It has been hugely gratifying to see the positive response that Heavy Rain has received from gamers” says David Cage, Writer and Director of Heavy Rain.

Mark Hardy, European Product Marketing Director at SCEE said “Heavy Rain is not a traditional blockbuster game [and] it shows that gamers are ready for more: more interactivity, more choice in how to play and more of the open-ended gaming experiences.”
