Virtual Console Update [18/1/08]
Posted in Uncategorized on January 18, 2008 by Jonathan CullenSeriously…
If someone hadnt have been a Goldeneye fanboy and refused to take a look a the VC, we would have had this up by now. Anyways, your 2 for this week are 1080 Snowboarding from the Nintendo 64 for 1000 Wii Points and Riot Zone for TurboGrafix – 16 (?) for only 800 Wii Points.
You can find both on the VC now…and until Goldeneye pops up on the VC, I dont think I’ll be expecting Ryan to do this anytime soon.
VC List:
1080 Snowboarding (N64) – 1000 Wii Points
Riot Zone (TG16) – 800 Wii Points
4 Unannounced Characters in Metal Gear Solid 4 *contains spoillers from past MGS games*
Posted in Uncategorized on January 18, 2008 by Jonathan CullenIt’s been announced that in the latest edition of The Kojima Productions podcast that there will be 4 unconfirmed characters in Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots when it releases in Q2 of this year for Playstation 3.
If you’ll remember, Peyton said in last week’s announcement that if his favourite American Football team, the Green Bay Packers, won their play-off match, he’d announce something pretty special…Patriots > Packers.
No that wasn”t it. He’d try and obtain permission to reveal the new titles Kojima Productions are taking right now, 3 in fact. But sadly, he could not obtain the said infomation (Kojima-san, you only delaying the inevitable by not telling us about Zone of the Enders 3).
But what he did get infomation from was something for Metal Gear Solid 4 fans. He confirmed that 4 characters, all unconfirmed, would be appaearing in the game. He said that 3 of them would be returning, 1 of them new. The list I’d like to see for the returnees.
Big Boss
Solidus
Mei Ling
Now Big Boss is seen in artwork released for the game but that could mean that although he’s dead, he has a vital part of the story like MGS1…although last time I checked, dead bodies dont stand. As for Solidus…he could pull a BB out of his backside tbh despite Raiden killing him in the sword fight in MGS2…and then falling from city hall.
But Mei-Ling isnt actually dead and could potentially turn up in the game but she was meant to be in MGS2 but was somewhat either cut out to the portion of stuff taken out from MGS2 after 9/11 or her appearence was never in the game.
We’ll find out when Guns of the Patriots is released in Q2 this year for the Playstation 3.

Devil May Cry 4 Demo Coming to PSN and XBL…But is It Coming This Week or the End of the Month?
Posted in Uncategorized on January 17, 2008 by Jonathan CullenIn the newest issue of Famitsu, not the one with the great Mario score it seems to be the new issue subscribers are getting, it’s been announced that Capcom are releasing a demo of Devil May Cry 4 for the Playstation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace but there is a hint as to when its happening. While Capcom have said it’ll be Janaury 31st in Europe and America, they didn’t mention Japan. And rumor is about that it’ll hit the Japan PSN store on Friday/Saturday…or is Capcom pulling a fast one and putting it on tonight on the US and European stores?
Well, I doubt it but the updates for both stores are tonight so it wouldn’t be a forgone guess that it could happen, it just probably wont happen.
DMC4 is hitting Europe, Friday Februrary 7th on Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 with the PC verison to later follow.

GDC 2008: Microsoft’s Big Announcement Gears of War 2?
Posted in Uncategorized on January 17, 2008 by Jonathan CullenAh, Surfer Girl. That nutjob surfer whos a girl who brings us news which either turn out to be true or false half the time. Now, in her latest brining, she says about a port of the original FF7 for the PSN, a announcement from Rockstar concerning the date for Grand Theft Auto IV and when PS3 owners expect an announcement for In-Game XMB. But there was one story out of that which seemed interesting which could back up claims from an email that Microsoft sent out yesterday about their GDC keynote.
As we announced yesterday, that announcement could concern new games, new features or even a type of Playstation Home for the 360. But this seems to fall into the former as it seems that someone asked a question concerning GDC and MS.
Q:
ok so theres this little thing called the GDC coming up. What can we expect from the Microsoft Camp?
A:
Something called Gears of War 2, the pack of previously-announced 08 releases and a couple of surprises.
It really wouldnt be a surprise to see it announced at all but to see it announced this early with E3 a few months away being a surprise in its own right.
Gears of War was an absoutely brillant game, just the epic title (In every sense of the word with no pun intended for developer, Epic Games) with it being the most played game on Xbox Live before Halo 3 came out. And when a GoW 2 comes round, you can bet your arse that No. 3 wont be far away…if 2 isn’t a pile of bollocks.

Is Microsoft Hyping a Big Announcement at GDC?
Posted in Uncategorized on January 16, 2008 by Jonathan CullenAs we announced this morning, Microsoft will be holding a keynote at next month’s Game Developer’s Conference
concerning the development of games on the Xbox 360…but according to Wired who got an email from Microsoft concerning the keynote, are they going to be announcing something big? Apparently so, although if it’s a new game, new features for Xbox Live or EVEN…a sort of Playstation Home for Xbox 360? Who knows but thats whats going on at the rumor mill.
If it is indeed a service similar to Playstation Home, you can bet your arse that Phil Harrison wont be pleased about it as he is apparently giving the second keynote of the conference is apparently going to be based on Playstation Home. But like we said, we dont know who is doing that keynote or infact dont know what Microsoft are planning but one thing’s certain…it’ll be known next month when GDC takes place in San Francisco between February 18th-22nd.
