New Team Fortress 2 Maps Coming…But Unconfirmed for PS3 & 360

Posted in Uncategorized on January 14, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Shacknews has been touch with Valve about details concerning the new maps and achievements for Team Fortress 2, due sometime in the next 2 months. Robin Walker of Valve told Shacknews that them maps and achievements are coming within them 2 months. Now of course, V3 is a console blog, so whats this to do with the site?

Simple.

TF2 is in The Orange Box for PS3 and Xbox 360. But yet, them maps (and for the 360, them achievements) has been unconfirmed as of yet.

It’s a large scale modification to the core of the game. “It’ll debut in a limited fashion through the Medic first, but it’ll be affecting all classes eventually.”

“We’re really looking forward to the community reaction. We’re really excited about where TF2 will be going over the next year.”

That was what Walker had to say about it before Shack later edited their post about the PS3 and 360 details.

Team Fortress 2 is a highly addictive MP game which I cant recomend enough for PS3 or 360 (I have it for both as part of The Orange Box :p) so if these new maps come for the consoles, thats great. But I’d like to see these new achievements implamented in the 360 verison as I have nearly done all the achievements for Team Fortress 2 on 360.

None the less, get The Orange Box for either the PS3, 360 or PC, its a bargin well worth getting, just for Portal…and TF2 of course.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is Playable Start to Finish

Posted in PlayStation 3 on January 14, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Good news for anyone who has a PS3 (Like moi) and anybody who likes MGS (Again, like moi). Very recently, the old MGS4 is Heading to Xbox 360 rumor arised but that was dissmissed again…and on show at the most recent CES2008 show was a English verison of the TGS demo of Metal Gear Solid 4.

But, hey everybody, a shining light of good news has arised! And it comes from the most recent Kojima Productions podcast!

Ryan Peyton, Assistant Producer on MGS4 & Host of the Kojima Productions Podcast.

Mr. Kojima of all people is really committed to the date because he really hates to disappoint people, and I know he is embarrassed by what happened with the 2007 slip into 2008

Which means that right now, it’s playable from start to finish with a Q2 2008 release projected

Also, according to ShackNews, Kojima Productions as well as publisher of MGS4, Konami, are planning a Gears of War esique Emergince Day marketing strategy where Konami announce a full blown release date for the game as well as the main gist of the plot and artwork/packging for the game.

Sadly for Brendan, it wont be coming to Xbox 360. Instead its a PS3 exclusive (Although I wouldn’t mind if it came to 360, I’d get it for achievements)

MGS4 also comes with a starter pack of MGO 2, also known as Metal Gear Online 2. MGO made it’s debut during the release of MGS3: Subsistance.

Welcome to Gamzsone V3…

Posted in Uncategorized on January 14, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Well folks, we’re finally here.

After doing a public beta last year on Freewebs, I felt we may have done it but something arose which led the June 2nd date been called off that we planned since September 2006. But we’ve been planning it for nearly 2 years now and only started the site in March 2007 (on Freewebs) only to start again in October 2007 with Blogger.

But we’re here and also is our YouTube page who we did a beta test on as well during last year. We did a 2 month trial on how our videos could cope on the channel as well as another beta during last year’s E3. Of course the last recent video was the box art unveiling of GTAIV.

But now, we can add more extensive videos to it.

Now…there are a few things I need to point out.

1st off, we have forums made, just not designed. Infact, they may not be used at all if we decide not to. Just use comments instead.

And 2nd, just like Ryan, our new member wont be here off the bat. Also, I forgot to point out that he wouldn’t have a main editibngng role like me, Ryan or Brendan. Just a reviewer for the PlayStation 3 with me.

3rd and finally, we had planned for a Gamzsone FM radio station linked somewhat to my Last FM profile but that has been scrapped.

Anyways we hope you enjoy the site.

Yet Another Nintendo & Sony Lawsuit

Posted in Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3 on January 13, 2008 by Jonathan Cullen

Nintendo and Sony are once again being sued over their Wii and PS3 consoles. By now you have heard of all the lawsuits against both companies and couldn’t be up for reading another one but we have to report it. The video gaming companies are being sued by Copper Innovations Group for a patent it holds called Hand-Held Computer Input Apparatus and Method which appear on both the respected consoles. The patent means the way the controllers connect to the console or for the real gamers and tech guys “a method for connecting devices to a system and sorting their inputs by means of hardware identification numbers tied to each transmission.” The suit states that the Wiimote, Nunchuk, PlayStation 3 Blu-ray Remote and Sixaxis all infringe the CIG patent.
