Grand Theft Auto V Hinted At, Heading to London?

Posted in PlayStation 3, Rockstar Games, Take Two, Xbox 360 with tags , on October 28, 2009 by Chris Hawke

GTA V

has made an interesting find. On the back of  the Episodes From Liberty City manual, they’ve found this picture:

Well? Our eyes are bloodied and far-sighted; you tell us what you be in the ‘rip’! We should know come March 2010…

After staring at the poster for the best part of an hour though, we’re pretty sure that underneith the ‘rip’ in the corner it says ‘Theatre Seagull’. There’s a Seagull Theatre in London.

One other point of note, noticed the guy down in the bottom left of the pic? Looks a bit like the dude from Monopoly wouldn’t you say?

Naughty Dog: “Who said we’re making Uncharted 3?”

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios with tags , , , , on October 28, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Naughty Dog

Possibly giving a hint as to what the studio are working on next, Naughty Dog’s creative director Amy Hennig has revealed that for all we know, they could be working on Uncharted 3 next. Then again, they might not be:

“Who said we’re making Uncharted 3?,” said Hennig.

Hennig was speaking in an interview with InGameChat with fellow ND Neil Druckmann, where he revealed in the same interview that they are already looking at parts which even out do Uncharted 2.

“We’re Naughty Dog right? When we approach a new project, we can’t just make it slightly better, because people’s memory of the stuff is always better than what it actually was so it has to be so much better, so that it really stands out.

“We had a brain storming the other day and one of the designers pitched something that sounded like it might be able to top the train,” said Druckmann.

“I would think that what he was pitching would top the train quite a bit, but that’s all we can say,” addid Hennig.

For the record, Uncharted 2 is properly awesome. And we mean “properly awesome”. Seriously. Go check out the review to find out why.

Mass Effect, Brothers In Arms Heading To The Big Screen?

Posted in 2k Games, EA, Other Gaming, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , on October 27, 2009 by Chris Hawke

mass-effect

While doing just another routine check on The Internet Movie Database, we’ve come across two surprising films said to be in development and set for release in 2012.

The first is Brothers In Arms, which could be an obvious step for the tactical WWII shooter from Gearbox. In May 2008, a film version was said to be in talks, but all has been quiet on the Western Front so far. You can colour us excited for the chance to see Matt Baker up on the silver screen.

The second is Mass Effect. There have been several murmurings of Avi Arad buying the rights, but nothing has been heard since. If IMDB, which also has listings for Infamous, God Of War and Gears Of War, is to be believed, both 101st Airborne Division and the Normandy 7 will be rubbing shoulders with the big boys in 2012.

Sky Player on Xbox 360 Pulled Due To “technical issue”

Posted in Xbox 360 with tags on October 27, 2009 by James Love

sky player

Many of you were probably looking forward to testing out Sky Player on the 360 but it seems to have had a few hitches on it’s launch. Unfortunately,  Microsoft has had to pull Sky Player from the 360′s interface following an “unforeseen technical issue,” with hopes that it will re-launch tomorrow instead.

The service, which will enable users to watch a combination of live TV channels and content on-demand, originally went live at earlier today but has now been suspended.

“The Sky Player on Xbox 360 service did successfully launch early this morning, it has subsequently been suspended due to an unforeseen technical issue,” read a statement from the publisher. “With so much excitement and interest in the service, we’d much prefer to ensure that our customers enjoy the highest possible quality of service. “

“We would like to take this opportunity to apologise to our customers who have attempted to access the service today. Sky Player engineers are hard at work to resolve the problem – we expect to have the full service available tomorrow.”

To see what was originally planned for today (and will subsequently come tomorrow hopefully) check out our earlier article.

What We Want From… FIFA 11

FIFA 2010

There is no doubt that FIFA 10 is good. Just check out our review, and you’ll see that no other football game quite compares its  fluid, good-looking control. But, it’s not perfect. In fact, while playing the game, we feel a tinge of sorrow. Those tiny flaws could be ironed out so easily, but EA just need someone to show them in a list format…

RUMOR: New GoldenEye Title On The Way?

Posted in Activision, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , on October 27, 2009 by James Love

goldeneye

Everyone remembers GoldenEye on the N64, it was a console defining FPS. Well, it’s possible that a new GoldenEye coming to the Nintendo Wii and possibly the Xbox 360 and PS3?

According to the CV of Craig Peck, animator at Eurocom Entertainment Software, a new GoldenEye game is in development for the Nintendo Wii. Earlier in the year Activision leaked their plans to release a new James Bond game with 2010 as its intended release date. Peck’s CV is the first indication that it might be another GoldenEye video game entry.

“Eurocom Entertainment Software, Derby, United Kingdom: July 09 – Sept 09 Animator – GoldenEye 2010 (Wii) – Animator on Activision’s James Bond series for the Nintendo Wii.”

His CV is currently offline now, presumably trying to hide it from the mass of rumours that have surfaced as a result.

Bizarre are confirmed to be developing the next Bond game, with Treyarch taking a break from the franchise. Though this is the case, it’s still very possible that Activision has called on Eurocom to work on the Wii game, as they did with Quantum of Solace. Moreover, this means that it’s very likely that the same GoldenEye game will be in development for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 at Bizarre.
