Eidos have released a bunch of new screenshots and a new trailer for upcoming sandbox game, Just Cause 2. The previous behind-the-scenes trailer showed off Panau, with the aim of the game to overthrow a dictator by destabilising the country by overthrowing dictator Baby Panay and confronting your former boss, Tom Sheldon. Titled “No Ordinary Mission,” the new trailer shows off some of the new gameplay, which you’ll be able to try out for yourself when the game is released sometime in 2010.

Infinity Ward Wants You To Fight Against Grenade Spam

Posted in Activision, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , on October 31, 2009 by Chris Hawke

modernwarefare2 asset

Well here’s something you don’t see every day. Infinity Ward shows off a new feature, ‘Game Winning Kill’, which shows the last kill in a match, but in slow motion. But then left-handed starting pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, Cole Hamels turns up and asks you to fight against grenade spam.

The animation looks smooth, the graphics lush, and it is funny, until you realize that Fight Against Grenade Spam spells F.A.G.S, and hear the random swearing that’s sure to fill the lobbies of Modern Warfare 2 when it hits 360 and PS3 on the 10th November. We don’t quite know how to feel about Infinity Ward now…

Rocksteady Hints At Batman Sequel

Posted in Eidos, Official PlayStation Magazine, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , on October 31, 2009 by Chris Hawke

2 batman

Speaking in Issue 38 of Official Playstation Magazine (out now), Sefton Hill replied to the question of whether gamers would see a sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum by saying this:

‘I’m not really allowed to comment on that, but there are definitely lots of exciting stories to tell in Batman’s world, and I can say that we’re really privileged to work on it, and excited about future possibilities.’

Maybe we’ll see the dank walls of Arkham Asylum again, or even a full-blown sandbox adventure in Gotham.

New Metro 2033 Screenshots And Artwork

Posted in THQ, Xbox 360 with tags , on October 31, 2009 by Chris Hawke

Metro 2033

Colour us excited for Metro 2033. The Survival Horror FPS is set to hit the Xbox 360 in early 2010, and it can’t come soon enough. Maybe we, like most people, are suckers for a post-apocolyptic wasteland scatters with crumpling  oppressionistic Soviet architecture, or maybe it’s just because we like shooting mutants, but if these 8 screenshots and 2 pieces of artwork are anything to go by, it’s going to be a sublime adventure.

Check them out after the jump.

Uncharted 2

The good folks over at the US PS Blog and the EU Blog have just announced an update for Uncharted 2 (1.01) which should be available now.

With Halloween on the horizon, it’s been announced that this weekend will be the first ever Double Cash Weekend, starting today (Friday 30th) at 11AM PST/6PM GMT and finishing Monday November 2nd at 11AM PST/6pm GMT.

Every match this weekend you’ll now get twice the cash award you normally would for completing typical game actions – not medal-related currency awards – giving everyone a leg up in increasing their rank.

A bunch of Naughty Dog staff will also be playing this weekend, so be on the lookout for the red Naughty Dog paw next to their PSN ID in the game.

A list of changes in the patch can be found after the jump.

Talking to the Official Playstation Magazine, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida revealed that SCE Studio Cambridge have their hands in a new project;

“…But he won’t be drawn into discussing new, top secret games, other than letting it slip that 24 developer Studio Cambridge is “working on a new project we haven’t announced yet”

Studio Cambridge are best known for their MediEvil series, as well as aforementioned 24: The Game and working on LittleBigPlanet PSP. Could this ‘new product’ be a revival of the MediEvil franchise, or something to do with the Motion Controller? Now is th time for wild speculation, people.

Issue 38 of OPM is out now.
