RUMOR: 250GB PS3 Slim Uncharted 2 Bundle Spotted

Posted in PlayStation 3, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, Tokyo Games Show 2009 with tags , , , on September 17, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Uncharted 2Well well, this puts the cat amongist the pidgeons.

Engadget has gotten what appears to be a pic of the bundle box advertising a 250GB PS3 Slim with Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The bundle is nothing new really, but its the specs of the Slim that is. When it was announced at GamesCom last month, the HDD specifications were for 120GB.

And only recently has other 250GB PS3 bundles been rumored like for games such as Assassins Creed II and Gran Turismo 5.

But SCEA have flat out denied the rumor, stating though they cant speak about other regions like Japan or Europe. Expect quite possibly an announcement at Kaz Hirai’s keynote at the Tokyo Game Show in the early hours of next Thursday morning.

And on that note, we’ve left an email with SCEE to confirm if the bundle is coming to the EU region.

Last FMMicrosoft have told GOONL!NE that Last FM, Facebook and Twitter for Xbox 360 are still launching this year, although specific dates are still to be confirmed for now.

When we asked Microsoft PR at an event earlier this week in Dublin, we were told that they had “no fixed date confirmed”. Further adding that they were only told “that they would be launched this year”.

The last we heard was this Winter quite possibly, but they wouldn’t come in a dashboard update. The Guild’s Felicia Day revealed Twitter and Facebook at Microsoft’s E3 presser, as well as Last FM.

Want to Know Anything on MAG?

magBy Jonathan Cullen.

Killzone 2, Resistance 2, Warhawk.

Some of the PlayStation 3′s top multiplayer hitters. Hell, they are the top three in that order. Well, as I speak, the MAG beta is kicking off this week and it looks set to be joining the ranks of them games. But other then that, we here at GOONL!NE feel that not alot of the information you want to know abou the game has been answered.

DLC, lag, etc etc.

Well, now is your chance to find out the answer to these questions and more. Next Wednesday, I am heading to Dublin (again!?) for a media only MAG event. Hands on with the game of course, but I’m also interviewing creative director of Zipper Interactive, Ed Byrne.

I have questions lined up for him, but what do you want to know on MAG? Email your questions to , and I’ll stick the best of the lot onto my Q&A.

fallout-3

Fallout fans will be happy to hear that there is a new premium theme which will be available for download from October 1st, for a mere 240 points. In even better news, if like us you’re such a fan and you already own all 5 pieces of DLC (or will do by September 22nd), then the theme will be free.

Excellent work from Bethesda and Microsoft to do this, and a great way to reward the fans who’ve supported the game by purchasing the DLC.

PR is after the jump.

Sky Coming to Xbox 360 Next Month

Posted in Xbox 360, Xbox Live with tags , on September 15, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

xbox-360Announced just before E3 for UK and Ireland, Sky TV will be hitting Xbox 360′s in the UK and Ireland from next month.

Thats what Microsoft told GOONL!NE earlier today at a press event from the company in Dublin, which featured a demo of the service, as well as hands on time with Halo 3: ODST and Forza Motorsport 3.

A rep from Microsoft showed us a full demo of the service, showing us Premier League matches in party mode as well as Sky News in full screen.

A subscription mode hasn’t been finalised yet from Sky or Microsoft, but should be announced before the release. We also asked about HD stuff coming, such as Sky 1 shows like 24 or Lost, although they say they have nothing yet planned.

It looked good tbh. We’ll have impressions of it up in the coming days.

First Sony Motion Controller Game Revealed

Posted in EA, PlayStation 3, Project Natal, Xbox 360 with tags , , , on September 15, 2009 by Chris Hawke

ps3

And it’s a bit of a shocker.

Not that there’s anything wrong with EA’s Grand Slam Tennis, which was announced to release on Natal and PS3 ‘Wand’ today by Peter Moore. But – it’s not what you’ve expected, right? Expect Natal to have some sort of Wii Sports launch title, and PS3 the same, and maybe another exclusive (Redwood Falls has been missing in action for a while….)
