Metal Gear Solid 5 COULD Be Shown at E3 2009

Bah, we missed this last week in the influx of GDC stories. Hideo Kojima has said that he may announce Metal Gear Solid 5 at E3 in June. Speaking at an Apple Store appearence in San Francisco, talking about Metal Gear Solid Touch, the floor was opened for questions in which a question was asked about MGS5. Speaking through his translator, Aki Saito, he said:

“I can’t really speak specifically right now. All I can say right now is that maybe we can do some announcement during E3.”

Okay, he didnt needlessly say MGS5 but considering he dropped like a very big hint of it at GDC last week, it surely has to be. I still want Zone of the Enders 3 though.

PLAYSTATION 3 Sells 3 Million in Japan

… and in comparison to the Xbox 360 figures, Famitsu has said that the PLAYSTATION 3 has sold over 3 million units, to be exact, 3,009,395. Big blockbsters like Metal Gear Solid 4, Yakuza 3 and Resident Evil 5, as well as the impending release of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete with a demo of Final Fantasy XIII as well as the exclusivity of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan, is most likely to have done it for the PS3.

So sorry to rain on your parade, 360.

Xbox 360 Finally Sells a Million in Japan

Holy… it’s finally happened!

The Xbox 360 has finally managed to sell a million units in Japan! It comes nearly 3 and and a half years after the console launched in Japan in a worldwide launch alongside America dn Europe, where the 360 has faired much, much better.

The console has sold 1,001,191 units, according to figures from Famitsu (via Kotaku). Maybe them RPG’s did pay off in Japan after all for the 360.

Naughty Dog Looking at Possibillty of a CE for Uncharted 2

Well, there is no need to convince PS3 owners to go out and buy Uncharted 2: Among Thieves when it comes out this Autumn, the first one was reason enough to get #2. But what if developers Naughty Dog enticed you with a possible collectors edition? Hmm, interested, arent you?

Well, they havent confirmed it but on their Twitter page, they are lookiing at a chance for a CE of the game.

Been discussing the potential of a Collector’s Edition for Uncharted 2 — Do you want a CE? What would you want in it?

So, what do you wanna see in yoru CE? Go tell them, now!

Remember, its out this Autumn, exclusively for the PS3.

From Call of Duty to Modern Warfare: Did Infinity Ward Do the Right Thing?

So unless you’ve been living under a rock/on Mars/been gagged, cant see and your ears stuffed (whatever your excuse may be), Infinity Ward announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 last week at the GDC awards, coming out Worldwide on Tuesday November 10th 2009 for PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360, as well as the PC.

But you may have noticed that in the trailer and the later press release that came out with it that there was no mention of the COD name. Infact, it was confirmation that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was popular enough to be a series in its own right.

But the truth may not be as such.

CONFIRMED: PS3 Price Cut Not Happening

playstation-3According to Geoff Keighley’s Twitter, Sony have confirmed that there will be no price cut coming to the PS3 tomorrow, when Sony have their big announcement

Keighley simply stated on his Twitter:

Sony just sent out a statement that “we do not have plans for a PS3 price drop”

Thew, what a week that was!

No exact big announcements coming out of GDC except Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (or Modern Warfare 2 as its now known) and onLive (but thats for another day on GOONL!NE). Satoru Iwota didnt exactly excite us during his keynote, and Hideo Kojima didnt exactly raise the roof off with his new game (because it was never announced), but hey, you want big announcements, wait till E3.

So anyways, incase you missed anything, here’s our big rundown.

Final Fantasy XIII Demo Touches Down in Japanese Retailers with FFVII ACC

Word has come out that Japanese retailers have now got their shipments of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete coming to Blu-Ray on April 17th in Japan, which also contains the much antcipated demo of Final Fantasy XIII on the PLAYSTATION 3.

The proof comes from the UFFS fansite.

And we can confirm now that, yes, GOONL!NE will be having a hands on preview of Final Fantasy XIII as we’re importing the Blu-Ray in for the demo (but we’re gonna use the movie as well, of course), we’ll be taking videos, screenshots and of course, that hands on preview and simply, we cant wait.

Expect it in late April/early May.

The game’s out this year in Japan for the PS3, its out in the West next year for PS3 and 360, it’s our most antcipated game of this year, dont ya know?

Big Announcement Incoming for GOONL!NE

We feel it’s time to announce something, bring in something big, as GOONL!NE is now heaveally improving by the day.

We’re now a much better experience blog now with nearly a year and a half under our belts, nearly a year under the GOONL!NE name.

We aint gonna announce it now, we wanna keep it a surprise. But needless to say, this is gonna take the site in a new directions. Most especially as GOONL!NE will most likely be reporting from GameCon in Cologne this summer when I head out there (it isnt confirmed yet but you never know).

Once we make this announcement, you will see a very big change in things here progessively on GOONL!NE, so we can suit to you, the reader and as well as that, our YouTube channel will be indated with videos updated with new content. For now, all you need to know is that this announcement is being made this week, midweek probably, so if  your a regular reader or a new reader to GOONL!NE, stay tuned next week for this big announcement.

Once a day is settled in announcing this announcement, we’ll let you know in our Twitter account. So sit tight, its only just beginning.
