Turn 10: No Night Racing Nor Weather in Forza Motorsport 3

Posted in Forza Motorsport 3, Microsoft Games Studios, Turn 10, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , on July 9, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

Forza 3Gran Turismo 5, eat your heart out? Not quite.

Turn 10’s Che Chou has gone on record on their official forums to confirm there will be no night racing, no dyanmic weather nor rallying in Forza Motorsport 3 when it releases this October for the Xbox 360.

No weather, night racing, or rally in the game.

The Community Manager for T10 did though state that although they trickling out info for the game, any car is “up for grabs”, even if it hasn’t been announced.

That said, any car is up for grabs. Just because we haven’t announced/shown it doesn’t mean it won’t make it into the game. We’re just trickling out info.

And as for leaderboards…

Painter/tuner/drag/drift scoreboards. Yes, it’s all in the details. Which we haven’t revealed yet.

The ironic part is that, all the feature Chou said that wouldnt be in Forza 3, it’ll be in Gran Turismo 5. Of course, we’re still looking forward to FM3 though this October.

Command & Conquer 4 Officially Announced [UPDATE]

Posted in EA, EA Games, Other Gaming with tags , , , on July 9, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

C&C4UPDATE: No console versions. At all. Not now. Not ever.

Original Story: EA’s formally announced the development of Command & Conquer 4, to be released next year. No console versions were announced, just the PC, but considering the original Command & Conquer 3 came out on the Xbox 360, and that Command & Conquer 3: Red Alert came out for the PLAYSTATION 3, we wouldn’t rule it out… yet.

This will be the final chapter in the Command & Conquer story, after 15 years of the Tiberium war between the Nod and GDI. A PrimeTime Battlecast will give us more info on July 24th and GameTrailers TV will air the first cinematic trailer for the game.

Story takes place 4 years after C&C3 and sees a possible alliance between Nod and GDI as Tiberium ravages the earth, with only 6 years left before the crystal makes Earth inhabitable.

PR is after the jump.

THQ to Support PS3 Motion Controller and Natal from Day One

Posted in PlayStation 3, Project Natal, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , on July 9, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

NatalTHQ has confirmed that the company will support Sony’s PlayStation Motion Controller for the PLAYSTATION 3 as well as Project Natal, Microsoft’s motion camera for the Xbox 360.

THQ exec Danny Bilson, speaking to GamesIndustry, has said the comapny will “be there” from the beginning with titles for both controllers with family suited titles.

We’ll be there at launch with some very friendly titles for the first audience who will adopt that stuff, which is families. The technology is really excellent, for both Xbox 360 and PS3, so now it’s all about the creative versus the business model. What’s the installed base like and how much can I spend against those? Of course at first you’ll see games that cost less money, but as the installed base grows we’ll do more robust stuff.

Natal’s out at a TBC date of 2010, the PS3 motion controller is out in the Spring.
