SCEA Publish Debut Trailer for ModNation Racers

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , , on July 10, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

MNRThe first trailer for ModNation Racers, the racing games from United Front Games based on the Play, Create, Share genre created by LittleBigPlanet, has gone live over on GT.

The game was revealed at E3 and was coined as the next big thing in Play, Create, Share by the developer as well as SCEA president, Jack Tretton. In the game, you can create your own characters, cars and tracks as well as share your tracks and cars and finally, play cars and tracks created by other players.

When we first seen the trailer, 3 words came into our head.

Little. Big. Planet.

While we’re not hyped for it (yet), you cant help but feel it has that LBP feel to it. And that is a very good thing, a very good thing indeed considering how much we loved LittleBigPlanet.

Catch the trailer after the jump.

SCEE: No Plans for a 3rd Killzone 2 Map Pack [UPDATE]

Posted in PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , on July 10, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

killzone-2UPDATE: Wait, there is?

Original Story: Despite reports of an updated trophy list for the game, pointed out by Kotaku, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has told GOONL!NE that there are no current plans for a 3rd Killzone 2 map pack at this time.

A SCEE rep told us that, despite the new trophies which would look like new weapons and maps are incoming, they have “no plans to release a 3rd at this moment in time”.

We’ve only just released the 2nd map pack (Flash & Thunder), and haven’t made any announcements about, or have plans to release a 3rd, at this moment in time.

We’ve reached out to Guerrilla Games about it anyways, we’re hoping to hear back from them shortly. The game was released back in February (a 10 from us) with two subsequent map packs, the most recent being Flash & Thunder which are remakes of Killzone 1 multiplayer maps.

ME2BioWare have released a second developer diary for Mass Effect 2, which tells you alot more of the game’s story, its refiend gameplay and thensome.

Project Director Casey Hudson, as well as other BioWare staff on ME2, talk about some of the newest refinements in the gameplay, one of which being an interupt system in which Shepard can decide, as Hudson puts it, “enough is enough” and take instant action. while in the middle of a conversation.

And speaking of Shepard, he will be playable in the game. But beware, Hudson hinted near the end of the video that if you kill off Shepard in Mass Effect 2, he stays dead. “Permanently” as he put it. They also tell you how the Normandy get fucked upon in the E3 trailer.
