Kitase: 360 FFXIII Wont “compromise” PS3 Version

final-fantasy-xiii-4Yoshinori Kitase has confirmed to Videogamer.com that the overall quailty of Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360 version wont “compromise” the PLAYSTATION 3 version of the game.

The producer for the game has said that the development team are looking tocreate an equal experience for both PS3 and 360 owners alike when the game launches in the West next Spring.

The team is targeting to create an equal experience on both the 360 and the PS3, so there are no limitations. For example, right now we’re working on the PS3 version first, and once we’ve completed that we’ll really know how much game there will be to fit onto the Xbox 360 discs

So we don’t know how many discs it’ll be housed on for 360, but there won’t be a chance that we’ll compromise anything because, oh it didn’t fit in the 360 discs so we’ll have to take it out of the PS3 version, or vice versa.

Kitase earlier confimred that 360 development was well underway and has been for two months, despite the PS3 version of the game not completed yet despite claims they would only start work on the 360 version once the PS3 version was out.

Catch our impressions of Final Fantasy XIII at some point during the summer.

CONFIRMED: Metal Gear Solid Announcements Coming All This Week

Posted in Kojima Productions, Metal Gear Online, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, PlayStation 3 with tags , , , , , , on June 15, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

MGS4Konami’s confirmed that Metal Gear Solid related news will be announced all this week.

But should 360 owners be on their guard for a MGS4 port announcment? No, game announcements have come and gone from KP at E3 in Rising. However, if we were betting people, the biggest announcement would be for trophies at the end of the week.

Two things were already announced, which was Metal Gear Solid coming to the PS Store this week and a update to Metal Gear Online which includes a new map for any owners of the Scene expansion plus more. They’ll take place in the wake of the first birthday of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which was last week. But either way, this will end up being hyped to the biggest announcement of them: trophies.

Either way, dont expect anything on Rising during this week.

We expect the first of these announcements tonight on the PS Blog, when we dont know.

Just one thing: why didnt this take place last week when it was Metal Gear Solid 4’s one year anniversary?

Kitase: FFXIII 360 in Development for Two Months

Posted in Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy: Fabula Nova Crystalis Series, PlayStation 3, Square Enix, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , , , , , on June 15, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

FFXIII 2When Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIII for the Xbox 360 at E3 last year, they stated that development for the 360 version would not start until the development for the PS3 version has ended.

Now though, it seems that it has indeed begun and has been on for a good while. Producer for the game, Yoshinori Kitase has said to Giant Bomb that the development for the 360 port has long since begun and has been in development for 2 months, since the release of the PLAYSTATION 3 demo in Japan to be specfic.

Up to the trial demo version that was released [in April] in Japan, [FFXIII] was PS3-only in terms of development… The Xbox 360 version is definitely following after the PS3 version, but [we] were finally able to come to a point in the PS3 development where some of the staff could take their hands off and start programming the 360 version.

It’s out day and date with the PS3 version Spring 2010. But it’s out in Japan exclusively for the PS3 this Winter. Catch the newest trailer from Jump Fiesta last December here.

Kojima More Involved in Rising Then Previously Thought

Posted in Kojima Productions, Metal Gear Solid: Rising, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 with tags , , , , , , on June 15, 2009 by Jonathan Cullen

kojimaHideo Kojima’s confirmed that he’ll be alot more involved in Metal Gear Solid: Rising then previously thought. Beforehand, Kojima was only meant to be Producer on the game and handle Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on the PSP solely. But now though, it seems as if he is taking on the game alot more then thought, according to Dengeki (via Eurogamer).

I’ll be working more deeply on the project then a normal producer.

However, he does insist on letting the new and upcoming talent of Kojima Productions to do most of the development work on the game. And he will still lead the development of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It was confirmed over the weekend that Rising will use a new engine for the game instead of using the Metal Gear Solid 4 engine.

It was announced at E3 2 weeks tonight for PLAYSTATION 3 and Xbox 360.
